Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Get Teleprompter Online ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use our website at getteleprompteronline.com and how it is used.
1. Scripts and your content
Your scripts, settings, and saved data are stored in your browser's own local storage on your device. The script text is not intentionally uploaded to a server operated by this site. It stays in your browser unless you choose to share it yourself, for example as a link.
If you import a script from a file, the .txt or .md file is opened by your own browser and read locally; its contents are never transmitted to us or to any other server. The only thing saved is the resulting script text in local storage on your device, and importing a file replaces the script you currently have open.
When you use Remote Control, the paired devices exchange commands and a small state snapshot so the remote can show progress and cues. This can include the script title, progress, playback state, speed and WPM, guide settings, and the next-cue label. A third-party signalling service introduces the two devices and may use a TURN relay when a direct connection is unavailable, so those providers may process connection metadata as part of the connection.
2. No camera or microphone access
The prompter has no camera or microphone features. It never asks your browser for camera or microphone permission, and no audio or video is captured, stored, or transmitted. The tool is a cue only: you capture the read with your own camera app or screen recorder on your own devices.
- No permission is ever requested. There is no control in the tool that opens a camera or a microphone — no camera preview, no voice follow, no recording.
- Nothing is captured. Because the tool opens no media device, there is no camera feed and no microphone signal to process or send anywhere.
The page is served with a Permissions-Policy that denies camera and microphone use entirely, so the browser blocks any such request before a prompt is even shown.
3. No account, no sign-up
We do not require an account, email address, or any personal information to use the teleprompter. There is nothing to download and no personal data profile is created just by using the tool.
4. Advertising and Google AdSense
We plan to monetize this website with Google AdSense by displaying ads. When enabled, Google and third-party vendors may use cookies to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Outside the United States, ads only load after you accept advertising cookies in the consent banner, as that is what the region's data-protection and e-privacy law requires. In the United States, ads may load with the consent-banner notice under the opt-out model, and choosing Reject all — or sending the Global Privacy Control signal — stops them. Until the IDs in our site configuration are set, no ad network loads at all.
- Personalized ads: Google uses advertising cookies to build a profile of your interests and show you more relevant ads.
- Non-personalized ads: Ads are shown without using cookies for personalization.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
You can learn more about your ad choices from Google's Advertising Technologies page.
5. Analytics (Google Analytics / GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate and to improve it. Outside the United States it loads only after you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner; in the United States it loads with the consent-banner notice under the opt-out model unless you choose Reject all or send the Global Privacy Control signal. It never loads during our own local development or testing. With consent, GA4 collects information such as pages visited, time on site, approximate location, and device/browser type, and we enable IP anonymization. This data is collected with cookies and processed by Google under its Ad and data-processing terms. It does not include any of your script content.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Remember your theme preference (dark/light) and tool settings.
- Enable Google AdSense to serve and measure ads (planned).
- Enable Google Analytics (GA4) to measure aggregate usage.
When you first visit, a consent banner lets you choose to accept all cookies or essential cookies only. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
7. Third-party links
Our site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, Google's ad preferences pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their privacy policies.
8. Children's privacy
Our service is not directed to children under the age of digital consent, which varies by country (13 in the United States; 13–16 across the EU/EEA depending on the member state; 14 under the LGPD in Brazil; 18 in South Korea, and so on), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Your rights
Data-protection law differs by country, and we honour the rights granted to you by the law of the region we serve you from (estimated from your timezone, as described in our Cookie Policy). Because the tool keeps almost everything on your own device, most rights are already satisfied by design; where a right needs a data controller to act, the relevant personal data is limited to what Google Analytics and AdSense collect — aggregate usage data and advertising identifiers.
Depending on where you are, that can include:
- EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland: rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and FADP — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection to processing, and the right not to be subject to automated decision-making. The UK's Data (Use and Access) Act updates the UK framework from February 2026, and our consent banner follows ICO good practice (an accepted/granular choice lasts six months; a rejection is re-asked after one day).
- United States: CCPA/CPRA and the ~19 state privacy laws effective 2023–2026 give the right to know what is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising and cross-context behavioural advertising. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out where privacy law recognises it.
- Brazil: rights under the LGPD (access, correction, anonymization, portability, and objection to processing for incompatible purposes).
- India: rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (access, correction, erasure, grievance redressal, and the right to withdraw consent).
- China: rights under the PIPL as a data subject whose personal information is processed (access, copy, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, and data portability).
- South Korea, Japan, Canada, Turkey, Mexico, Chile, South Africa, and others: each country's data-protection law (PIPA, APPI, PIPEDA/Quebec Law 25, KVKK, LFPDPPP, Chile Law 21.719, POPIA) grants comparable access, correction, deletion, and objection rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us below with your request and the country you are in; we will confirm what (if any) personal data we hold about you and act without undue delay. Where we serve you in opt-out mode (the United States), "Reject all" in the consent banner, the footer's Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link, and Global Privacy Control are the immediate ways to stop advertising analytics. The core tool does not create an account profile or store personal data beyond what you choose to keep on your own device, so most rights (deletion, correction) are exercised simply by clearing local data via the tool's Settings → Clear data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Your continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
