Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Get Teleprompter Online uses cookies and similar technologies. It complements our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help sites remember information about your visit, such as preferences, and enable features like advertising measurement.
Cookies we use
- Essential storage: We use the browser's local storage to remember your teleprompter scripts, settings, and theme preference. This data stays on your device and is always enabled.
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense): We serve ads through Google AdSense; when enabled, Google and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads. Google may use advertising cookies to personalize ads based on your activity across websites.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics / GA4): We use Google Analytics to collect aggregate information about how visitors use the site (pages visited, time on site, device type), which helps us understand and improve the site.
- Consent record: We store your cookie-consent choices on your device so the banner isn't shown until it needs a refresh.
Google AdSense
We display ads through Google AdSense. Google's advertising technology uses cookies to decide which ads to show and to measure ad performance. You can learn more about how Google uses cookies at Google's Cookie Policy.
To opt out of personalized advertising: visit Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.
Google Analytics (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. GA4 associates events with anonymized identifiers and uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. To opt out of Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can learn about how Google uses this data at Google's partner page.
Consent by region
This is a static site with no server, so we estimate your region from your device's timezone. The two models are:
- European Economic Area, UK, Switzerland (and unknown timezones): consent model. Nothing is loaded until you choose. The banner shows three equal-weight options — Accept all, Manage options, Reject all — and Manage options lets you turn Analytics and Advertising on independently. Strictly necessary storage stays on so the tool works. Your choice is stored with a timestamp and refreshed after six months.
- Rest of the world (including the United States): opt-out model. Advertising and analytics may load while the notice is shown, because these regions regulate advertising by opt-out rather than opt-in. Reject all loads nothing and does not come back to your device. The banner has no dismiss shortcut: closing it is never treated as a choice, so there is nothing to dismiss that could be mistaken for consent or an opt-out.
Timezone detection is imperfect. If your timezone is unknown or ambiguous we use the stricter consent model by default, and you can change your choices at any time from the footer.
Managing consent
- You can review, change, or withdraw your choices at any time from the Cookie settings link in the page footer, which re-opens the banner.
- In a consent-model region, choices are stored for six months, after which the banner asks for fresh consent (as recommended by the UK Information Commissioner's Office).
- We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signal where your browser sends it; when we detect it we do not load advertising or analytics and show an on-screen acknowledgment.
- Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies through their privacy settings.
- Clearing all site data will remove your consent record and any locally saved scripts, so only clear this site's data when you no longer need the scripts it has stored.
- Blocking essential storage may limit tool functionality. Rejecting advertising and analytics means no ads and no usage tracking — the tool still works.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We use Google AdSense, which can serve personalized ads based on activity across websites, and Google Analytics. Depending on where you are, this can be treated as "selling" or "sharing" personal information for advertising under California law (CCPA/CPRA).
You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising at any time:
- Click Reject all (or turn Advertising off under Manage options) in the consent banner, opening it from the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the page footer. We record your choice on your device.
- Turn on the Global Privacy Control in your browser; we honor it as an opt-out when we detect it.
- Use Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.
We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense — money does not change hands, and we do not share or sell any data you enter into the teleprompter itself (your scripts stay on your device). The opt-out above covers advertising personalization and attribution. Opting out is as easy as accepting: both are one click in a banner of equal-weight buttons, and your choice is remembered.
The trade-off
The teleprompter works fully with essential storage only; it keeps your scripts and settings locally on your device. In consent-model regions, advertising and analytics stay off until you accept them; in opt-out regions they load unless you reject them. If you ever change your mind, the Cookie settings link in the footer lets you adjust your choices granularly without losing your scripts.
